The second draft race, held at Kyalami, successfully wrapped up the first part of the MEBIT GT Championship of Serbia for the 2026 season. After the first draft race at Paul Ricard, drivers got another chance to show themselves to teams and improve their standing ahead of the team line-ups for the upcoming championship.
Unlike the first draft race, the second event was covered by a full commentary broadcast, with guest appearances by the drivers already placed directly into the GT3 category, who shared their expectations through their analysis and commentary and hinted at what we can expect at the start of the season.
Qualifying once again went down to the wire. Nikola Škrbić held the fastest time for almost the entire session, but in the closing moments Predrag Kizić managed to put in an even quicker lap and take pole position. Škrbić took second place, Marko Marić third, while Ivan Jašić finished qualifying in fourth.
After a long formation lap came the start of the race, where Marić immediately put Kizić under pressure. The fight for the lead was already on in the opening laps, and after light contact between Kizić and Škrbić there was a brief loss of touch with the leading Marić. Kizić then took the position back and continued the fight for the very front. Marko Krsmanović made the most of their duel, closing on the leading three at an excellent pace, while Luka Radović and Relja Ristić kept in touch and stayed in the fight for a high finish.
During the race there was a problem with the Assetto Corsa Competizione server, as a result of which six drivers were disconnected shortly before the end of the race. Because of this technical problem they were left without a classified position. As this is the draft phase of the championship, the incident will not be decisive for the rest of the competition, nor will it affect the committee's decisions.
With the second draft race, the draft phase of the MEBIT GT Championship of Serbia for the 2026 season is successfully complete. Every driver who has taken part in one of the races so far now enters the selection process for the upcoming championship, and profiles of all participants — with their results from both draft races, basic information and statistics — will soon be published on our site as the basis for forming the teams. The championship's partners and sponsors will then choose the drivers who will represent their teams during the 2026 season. The committee's decision on the drivers who earned a place in the GT3 category through the draft phase will also be announced soon.
