First draft race of the MEBIT GT Championship of Serbia 2026 held

First draft race of the MEBIT GT Championship of Serbia 2026 held

The first draft race of the MEBIT GT Championship of Serbia for the 2026 season was successfully held at Paul Ricard, gathering 20 drivers fighting for the best possible position ahead of the team line-ups for the upcoming championship.

Qualifying alone showed how close the field is. Marko Marić took pole position ahead of Nikola Škrbić and Ivan Jašić, with the top three separated by just two tenths of a second — a promise of an exciting race.

At the start the leading drivers held their positions through the opening corners, but Jašić took second place from Škrbić early on. Qualifying had promised a close fight, and the race delivered it in full: across 45 minutes of racing and the mandatory pit stop we saw a good number of battles on track, overtakes and different strategies.

After an exciting race the win went to Marko Marić, second place to Ivan Jašić, and Luka Srejić crossed the line third. Srejić also produced one of the standout results of the day, climbing from sixth on the grid to the podium.

Ivan Novaković also had a strong outing, coming from twelfth on the grid to eighth, as did Boki Obradović, who made the biggest gain of anyone in the field, moving from sixteenth to eleventh. Nikola Milosavljević, on the other hand, could not hold on to his excellent qualifying result: after starting fourth, a drive-through penalty significantly affected his race and eventually dropped him to nineteenth.

It is worth highlighting that the race passed without a single incident. Despite the large number of cars on track and the fights for position throughout, the drivers showed a high level of discipline and fair play — an excellent introduction to the season ahead.
